Challenges for decision makers when feed in tariffs or net metering schemes change to incentives dependent of a high share of self- consumed electricity

چکیده
When there are differences in economic value of self-consumed and exported electricity, economic profitable PV installations are dependent of accurate predictions of selfconsumed electricity. In this study, minute based data of PV production and the electricity use were logged in a single family house in Sweden. It is shown that when self-consumed electricity is estimated, a low time resolution and the electric meter configuration can result in 60% lower predictions of selfconsumed electricity. When feed in tariffs or net metering schemes change to incentives dependent of high shares of selfconsumed electricity, the market and electric meter infrastructure must be prepared to avoid market development disturbances. Index Terms — government, policy, market incentives, feed in tariffs, net metering, self-consumption

Cost Competitiveness of Residential Solar PV: The Impact of Net Metering Restrictions
The policy of net-metering allows the operators of residentialand commercial solar PV systems to sell surplus electricity back to their utility at the going retail rate. This policy has recently been criticized on the grounds that it provides a subsidy for solar installations, a subsidy that is paid for by all ratepayers. In response, public utility commissions have begun to take up this regula...

The purpose of this article is to investigate the impact of electricity tariffs in the domestic and industrial sectors on electricity consumption and macroeconomic variables. In this regard, statistical data for the period 1991-2020 based on seasonal frequency and dynamic stochastic general equilibrium approach (DSGE) have been used. In this study, it is assumed that there is a section in the h...
متن کاملPromoting Renewable Electricity Generation through Guaranteed Feed-in Tariffs vs Tradable Certificates: An Ecological Economics Perspective
For a variety of reasons it can be argued that the share of electricity generated from renewable energy sources should be increased. However, many of the new renewable energy technologies cannot yet successfully compete against conventional ones, and therefore support schemes are needed. A common approach, at least within the European Union, is the provision of guaranteed feed-in tariffs. More ...
